Richard Fischer Provides Legal Advice at Hope for the Homeless Event
Richard provided legal advice and answered questions for individuals at the Hope for the Homeless event at Sherwood Community Center on Monday, September 8.
Organized by Pastor Doug Herget, Hope for the Homeless is a monthly event that provides a home-cooked meal and aggregates representatives from organizations that provide local services for the homeless. In addition to The Fischer Law Firm, also present were other organizations, including 2-1-1 Texas, Medical Center Hospital Faith & Health Network, Texas Workforce Solutions, The Able Center, the Military Veteran Peer Network, and Catholic Charities.
Individuals were able to get lunch, some clothes, a haircut, and speak to the various organizations present.
With the Midland-Odessa area experiencing an unprecedented economic boom, with some of the lowest unemployment rates in the United States year after year, issues relating to homeless individuals can often seem like an afterthought. However, their issues are very real and present, especially given the very expensive nature of housing in the area.
Richard spoke to individuals about Social Security disability, as well as criminal law, personal injury, and business law issues.
